Compass Learning Odyssey is now available for home use. This web-based learning tool is a great way for your child to work on standards based activities at home. The Odyssey login address is
http://compassn1.ddtwo.org. Your child’s user name and password are their student number so they login just like they do at school.
Before starting the program, click the “check system” button at the bottom of the login screen to start a system check. You can easily see which requirements have not been met and access the appropriate websites via the links provided. Kindergarten and first grade students should select the Language Arts icon to access their folders. Think Central Online Math and Language Arts:
Below is a brief description of the four resources available from Think Central.
South Carolina Student eBook: The eBook is an electronic version of the student textbook. You and your child now have access to the South Carolina Mathematics textbook at home. This is helpful if your child is absent from school or forgets to bring home his/her mathematics textbook.
·Math Intervention On-Line. The Math Intervention program is an excellent interactive resource for students who may need support reinforcing and enhancing mathematical skills. The program contains four key components: Learn the Math, Do the Math, Independent Practice and a Quiz. Individual student needs are supported by a variety of skill based lessons.
·Mega Math: Mega Math has many math games that reinforce skills, concepts, basic math facts, and application of problem-solving strategies. Research shows that mastery of mathematical concepts and skills is a result of repeated exposure and practice. Repeated practice enables children to make new connections and build on the mathematical content they already know while gradually learning more difficult and challenging content.
·Students login to ThinkCentral using their Student ID and read180 as their password. We hope you find the resources valuable in assisting your child at home to enhance and strengthen his/her mathematical skills.
